Accountability
When we get it wrong, we say so here.
Accuracy is the whole point of what we do, and we still make mistakes. When a fact, a quote, a name or a headline in a published story turns out to be wrong, we fix the story, add a note saying what changed, and list significant corrections below.

Archive review, October 2026
Before starting this log, our editors re-reported our 111 most recent stories against primary sources, checking 2,214 facts, quotes and attributions. Where a figure, quote or name did not hold up, we fixed it in the story. Changes from that review are not listed individually. Corrections from Oct. 28, 2026 on are listed above.
Our policy
01What we correct
Any factual error: a wrong number, date, name, title or quote, a quote given to the wrong person, or a headline that misstates the story. We correct errors whether a reader reports them or we find them ourselves.
02How we note it
The story is fixed and a note is added at the end with the date and what changed, for example: “An earlier version of this story misstated the company’s third-quarter revenue. It was $2.58 billion, not $2.85 billion.” Significant corrections are also listed in the log above.
03Updates and clarifications
When new information arrives after publication, such as a company releasing results, we may update the story and say so. A clarification adds context to something that was accurate but could mislead. Neither is listed as a correction unless a fact was wrong.
04What we don’t do
We do not delete stories to hide errors, and we do not change a quote to make a speaker sound better or worse. When the person we quoted got a number wrong, we keep their words and report what the data shows. Those checks are on The Record.
05Report an error
Email [email protected] with the story link and what you think is wrong. An editor reads every message.
