The stock market has opened slightly higher after a big rally yesterday, but things are already cooling off due to housing macros coming in soft. Members of the Federal Reserve also didn’t make many optimistic comments, as Fed’s Bostic said that we could have just one rate cut this year.

Stocks are reacting in a mixed fashion today since there’s still some good news regarding tariffs. Investors had priced in a full-blown trade war as Trump seemed set to impose blanket reciprocal tariffs on all countries starting on April 2nd. That didn’t happen, but yesterday’s rally seems to have accounted for the positive shift in sentiment. The stock market again seems back in uncertain territory.

Here’s a market update as of 10:45 A.M (ET) today.

  • The S&P 500 is up 9 points, or 0.16%.
  • The Nasdaq Composite is up 67.6 points, or 0.37%.
  • Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 33.5 points, or 0.08%.
