22 Stocks Getting Crushed by Ozempic

Snacking products that had very high demand and dominated the aisles have seen a significant slowdown as Ozempic started gaining explosive popularity three years ago. The drug was approved well before it, but people realized that it could be used to lose weight very fast and started using it. The "caveat" is that it reduces people's craving for snacks. Shoppers who once left the supermarket with bags of chips, candy bars, and soda are now walking past those shelves without a flicker of temptation.

The medicine belongs to a class called GLP-1 agonists, which mimic a gut hormone that slows digestion, dulls hunger, and, crucially, quiets the brain’s reward circuit for high-fat, high-sugar foods. Early studies show that people on the drug cut their daily calories by around a third.

Wall Street analysts expect nearly one in ten U.S. adults to be on a GLP-1 drug by 2030. When a slice of the population that large suddenly loses the urge to munch, the math turns brutal for companies whose business models rely on frequent small purchases.

MyInvestingNews has curated a slideshow of 22 such snacking-related stocks that are being crushed by Ozempic-related trends.
